Appearance Guidelines
Secondary School (7–12)
Uniform
- The School uniform is to be worn correctly and neatly at all times, including a tie and a tucked shirt
- Students are to wear their blazer to and from school each day
- Sport uniform may be worn all day only on days where students have a timetabled practical PE lesson
- Students must get changed for before school, after school or lunchtime APS sport training and are not permitted to wear Sport or APS uniform to school before or after attending APS sport training
- Jewellery, such as rings, bracelets and earrings should not be worn
- Only official BGS hats and scarves are permitted
- Boys are expected to wear School uniform to all School functions, including weekend events
Hot Weather
- If temperatures are forecast for over 29 degrees, students are not required to wear blazers to or from school. Ties must still be worn, with a decision on their removal to be made if temperatures continue to rise
Haircuts
- Hair must be neat, clean and well-maintained at all times
- Boys should always be clean-shaven
- Hair must be reasonable length (e.g. short back and sides). Hair should not fall below the collar, or over eyes
- Hair must be blended, without significant contrasts in lengths
- No haircuts below blade 3
- Hair must be natural in colour
- No extreme haircuts/hairstyles
- No use of hair ties or accessories
