Ross Featherston
Headmaster, Brighton Grammar SchoolThere is a vital link between learning and personal development, and it takes a well-rounded approach to support the intellectual, emotional, physical and cultural growth of our boys.
Our co-curricular program plays a key role in this, offering activities that extend beyond the classroom.
This term has included music performance evenings, production rehearsals, successful sporting finals, a Model United Nations assembly, community service events, and Outdoor Education programs for our Year 5, Year 7 and Year 10 students.
The House system plays an integral role in this developmental process. This was particularly evident in the significant number of House Colours awarded to boys in the Secondary School this term, as well as the House spirit initiatives undertaken in the Junior School.
Together, these experiences enrich the academic curriculum and help students build essential skills in communication, critical thinking, and teamwork – skills that will serve them well both now and in the future.
I wish all families a safe and restful Easter and holiday break and look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Tuesday 22 April.

Peter Tellefson
Deputy Headmaster, Head of Junior SchoolIt is hard to believe Term 1 has come to an end. Thank you to all boys, staff and parents who have contributed so much to ensure a successful start to the year. I appreciate the commitment of our staff to provide your son with many positive learning experiences this term.
There is no doubt Wilson House is a busy learning community for boys, staff and parents. Our boys are fortunate to be provided with such a variety of learning experiences. Boys and staff alike will all look forward to the two week holiday break. Best wishes to all families for the holiday break, and may the blessings of Easter be with you.
The continued support of parents in recent weeks has been pleasing: Outdoor Education information sessions, Year 3 Training Strings, Prep – Year 2 Fathers’/Special Friends’ mornings, various Year 3 – 6 sport competitions, Prep – Year 2 Literacy workshop, +M Presentation, Upper String and Woodwind Soirees and our End of Term Assembly.
It is great to see our parents continue to avail themselves to these opportunities as it increases awareness and engagement in your son’s education here at Brighton Grammar.
A special mention to our St Andrew’s Choristers who have a significant commitment throughout the Holy Week celebrations.

Acting Director of the Early Learning CentreThis week we welcomed our buddies to the ELC for some Easter egg hunting fun. Wearing their bunny ears and proudly holding their Easter baskets, the boys were ready to race around the garden and find the eggs hidden amongst the shrubs and trees by their buddies earlier in the day.
With some help from their buddies, it wasn’t long before Easter baskets were overflowing with colourful gleaming wrappers, full of chocolatey goodness. With pockets full of chocolate, it was time to farewell our buddies, wishing them a Happy Easter and a restful break.
Easter crafts have also been popular in the classrooms, with many of the boys drawing, painting, and pasting cards to give to family and friends.
On behalf of the ELC staff, we would like to wish all our families a happy and peaceful Easter break. We look forward to an exciting Term 2, full of new experiences and possibilities.
Our Holiday Program runs from Monday 7 April to Thursday 17 April. Term 2 commences on Tuesday 22 April.

Cybersafety
Young people today are growing up in an increasingly connected world where technology is part of their everyday lives – for learning, socialising, and entertainment. While the digital world offers enormous benefits, it also comes with serious risks.
From cyberbullying and online predators to inappropriate content and screen time concerns, navigating the online environment can be challenging for young people and their families. Cybersafety is not just about blocking access – it’s about empowering young people with the knowledge and skills they need to use technology responsibly and safely.
